Bumped into bad doctor who destroyed me earlier this year two nights ago. Legs went to jelly, looked at the floor a lot, mumbled something about working really hard, then legged it out of club. Apparently she thought I hated her and was giving her "the biggest evil". No! It would be nice to talk it through though. Or maybe better to move on, seeing as I had been doing alright til now.

Raaar, worked 8.45 - 8.30 today; but olympian amounts of regular work are what keeps my fragile mind together. Met girl on saturday who has nice eyes, but lives in Reading or Newbury or somewhere, and probably wouldn't be interested anyway. Also beautiful Petra is back behind the bar at my local pub! I have learnt some czech phrases to get her to get cheeky, maybe it will work, it might just be funny. Either way.....anyway, very nice to be back in school etc, I get soooooo bored in the hols. But then, everyone already knows that really.

One more day of holiday, then training days thurs and fri and back to work on monday! It will be really nice to get back into the swing of things. Weather has been superb the last couple of days - I like going out in shorts and t shirt to get some milk in the middle of the night, it's ace. Good day vibing with everything today and thinking about the shape of things, digging the tree and the heavy rain earlier. seasons are definitely changing, there is an autumnal feel to the air and it's getting windier, grab the sunshine while we can! so today focused on hangover, my mate geoff who is moving back to bristol (yes!) came round and we vibed for a bit, internetted, sorted some references for The Important Job Application and enjoyed listening to the summer rain outside - I looooooove rain, long as I'm not stuck in it.

really looking forward to going back to work: there will be some reorganising of timetable to be done, but it will hopefully make it better. I miss my kids too, they are so much fun.

I also read the Anthony Kiedis book, made me think of California and imagine it in my head.

Hello, today I congratulated myself on not boozing too much at the weekend, enjoyed playing guitar at a jam session and am now listening to 16th century lute music. I like the look of these characters. I am interested in shape, sound and light today, and discovered Mocha coffee: what a sterling invention this is. I applied for this job in bath spa university teaching their students guitar, I really hope I get it, not least because it pays £34.41 per hour. But I think one of the more senior guitar crew may well get there first, which is I suppose fair enough: got to pay the dues hey. Why I find baroque music interesting:

I am just smoking some Bach rihgt now, and was listening to Leopold Weiss lute music earlier, and I am wondering what it is that I find so intriguing about it. I guess maybe the way that a lot of this music relies entirely on linear form: the line is the harmony and the harmony is the line: it outlines all the chord changes: as a jazz musician this is of great interest, as although I am interesting in musical shapes and images I am also really keen on being melodic and outlining a tune's structure through melody. I have really got the vibe back just lately - really enjoying playing again, maybe because my arms and hands are less painful than they were this time last year. Important to look after those tendons and ting, and focus on posture. I also like linear stuff for the way it creates a shape: just like a tree is a series of lines and curves that give an overall shape. All these visual cues are musically inspiring, as are the letters of this font, which is perhaps why I am writing so much - for the visual stimulus. Hmmmmmm. Anyway, am so massively up for playing now that I know that I am not risking injury, and that there are ways around discomfort and different technical approaches. New chapter opening up in the book of guitar I think.
